About this event

Live Local Act towers promise "workforce" housing. What do they actually deliver?

In this short talk, Daniel Ciraldo takes a selection of the Live Local proposals now before Miami Beach and puts the results side by side: how many homes in each project are set aside as workforce housing, how big those homes are compared with the market-rate condos in the same towers, what the law lets a landlord charge, and who actually qualifies. We'll also look at the projects that are all workforce housing and what they would replace.

The rent figures in these plans are ceilings set by the law, not listing prices, so we'll look at what that means for the people the housing is meant to serve.

Send your questions in advance when you register, and we'll take them in the Q&A.

Sunday, October 25, 4 PM ET, on Zoom. Free.
